Chanel, a leading name in the luxury industry, is taking bold steps towards reducing its environmental footprint with the introduction of eco-friendly elements in its product ranges. The renowned Chance eau de toilette range will now feature an exquisite touch of anodized aluminium, replacing the traditional use of galvanized polished brass. In collaboration with g.pivaudran, a specialized French manufacturer catering to the perfume, cosmetics, and spirits industries, Chanel has embarked on this eco-conscious journey. The new Chance bottles will showcase lightweight and highly recyclable anodized aluminium strips instead of the previously used galvanized varnished brass, adhering to the brand's commitment to sustainability. This shift in material not only contributes to environmental preservation but also eliminates the use of chemicals associated with the galvanizing process. The anodized aluminium strips are meticulously produced in the southwest of France by g.pivaudran and assembled by expert glassmakers in France and Italy, who work in partnership with the esteemed brand.Acknowledging this change, g.pivaudran, the perfume packaging expert, expressed, "This inconspicuous alteration, while imperceptible to consumers, symbolizes Chanel's profound commitment to eco-responsibility. It reflects the brand's dedication to effective and practical sustainability, free from ostentation."Creating aluminium strips for Chance bottles presented several challenges for g.pivaudran's skilled teams. With their expertise, they had to shape delicate 0.6mm aluminium strips that would perfectly conform to the curved bottle while retaining their radiant appearance. This required a blend of flexibility and precision in the manufacturing process.Chanel will initially launch these new bottles in the 100 ml version, with plans to introduce anodized aluminium strips for all other sizes by 2024. g.pivaudran has undertaken the production of these strips for fragrance sizes ranging from 35 ml to 150 ml, emphasizing their commitment to eco-friendly and design-focused packaging solutions, including those crafted from 100% recycled aluminium, catering to premium and luxury brands.Marc Pivaudran, CEO of g.pivaudran, expressed their expertise in shaping aluminium and their ability to meet diverse client requirements. He stated, "Aluminium, by its very nature, is eco-responsible, endlessly recyclable, lightweight, and versatile, making it the perfect response to the desire for added value by luxury brands."
