Automazioni industrial! Capitanio will develop a new Level 2 system for Acciaierie Valbmna SpA plants in Vicenza and Bolzano in Italy. The main goal of the project is to provide a layer to collect the data from the processing lines plant floor and deliver them to the customer's MES, interfacing different type of machines and control systems in a seamless way. According to customer’s needs, the new solution will lead to the optimization of data flows, improvement of operations visibility and quality tracking. The full scope of supply includesDevelopment of Level 2 functionality for all identified machinesEngineering and updating of existing electrical equipment and wiring diagramsUpgrade of the existing automation & control system adding the required hardware to collect the data from legacy control systems that are not network readyDevelopment of PLC functionality for data collection from the field and the interface with Level 2Commissioning and support both on site and from remote The AlC’s solution guarantees and allows to optimize both the production process of the plant thanks to the reliable approach to data management, graphic interfaces and know-how efficiency. Integration with a new dynamic information system (MES) for different types of Levels 2 will drive effective execution of manufacturing operations. Founded in 1925 and a leader in the production of Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys and Titanium Long products, Valbruna is a private company with 2.500 employees and an annual output of 200.000 tonnes of specialty steels. Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods. With four Production Facilities, two in Italy (Vicenza and Bolzano) one in the United States (Fort Wayne, IN) and one in Canada (Welland, Ontario), Valbruna is one of the leading industrial complexes for the production of stainless, nickel and specialty long products.
