Chinese steel giant Baowu announced that the Baihetan Hydropower Station has been put into operation to generate electricity recently, marking the full completion of the world's largest clean energy corridor. BaoSteel supplied more than 40,000 tonnes of key core silicon steel materials for the generating units of the Baihetan Hydropower Station and its supporting power transmission projects.The Baihetan Hydropower Station Project is the hydro-generator unit with the largest single-unit capacity in the world. The core material of the generator is high-grade non-oriented silicon steel, all of which come from Baowu. Among the 16 units, 13 units are supplied by BaoSteel, and the remaining 3 units are supplied by TISCO. The Baihetan Dam is a large hydroelectric dam on the Jinsha River, an upper stretch of the Yangtze River in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, in southwest China. The dam is a 289-meter-tall double-curvature arch dam with a crest elevation of 827 m, and a width of 72 m at the base and 13 m at the crest.
