Industrial robots are playing a big role at Chinese steel giant Baowu’s BaoSteel plant in Shanghai. Baosteel started using BAO Robots in various duties in 2019 and recent media reports suggest that so far 920 robots have freed up more than 2,800 workers from repetitive and heavy chores and many production lines have achieved unmanned operations.Baosteel indicated that the operation of robots could make its staff avoid a harsh, high labor intensity, and risky work environment. Instead, they can pay more attention to high-adding-value products and services to increase labor efficiency.
