Inner Mongolia based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron & Steel has reported operating revenue of CNY 41.06 billion (USD 6.0 billion) in H1 of 2022, up 4% YoY, while posting a net profit of CNY 420 million (USD 61 million), down 85% YoY. Baogang’s outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel amounted to 7.086 million tonne, 7.797 million tonne and 7.365 million tonne, down 1%, 0.4% & up 0.12% YoY, respectively.Baotou Iron and Steel Group, Baotou Steel or Baogang Group, is an iron and steel state-owned enterprise in Baotou in Inner Mongolia in China. It was reorganized in 1998 from Baotou Iron and Steel Company established in 1954. It is the largest steel enterprise in Inner Mongolia. Baotou Steel was established with support from Ansteel Group, as most of its initial staff members were former employees of Ansteel. Its subsidiary company, Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Union was established and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 1997.
