Sri Lankan media reported that Chinese Steel Giant Baowu is exploring the possibility of a billion-dollar investment in Hambantota in Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka’s Ambassador of to China Dr Palitha Kohona recently visited the Baowu Steel conglomerate offices in Ma’anshan in Anhui to discuss investment potential in Sri Lanka.Baowu Steel will prepare a feasibility study on making a substantial investment in Hambanthota in Sri LankaStrategically-located Hambantota is the main town in Hambantota District in Southern Province of Sri Lanka with an international airport and is undergoing a number of major development projects including the construction of a new sea port.
