Canada Finds Injury in Imports of Corrosion Resistant Flat

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal found that the dumping of corrosion-resistant flat-rolled steel sheet products of carbon steel, originating

in or exported from Turkey, excluding those goods exported by Borcelik Celik Sanayi Ticaret AS, and Vietnam, and the subsidizing of the aforementioned goods, originating in or exported from Turkey, excluding those goods exported by Atakas Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS, Borcelik Celik Sanayi Ticaret AS and Tatmetal Celik Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS, have caused injury to the domestic industry. Anti-dumping and countervailing duties will therefore be collected by the Canada Border Services Agency.

The Tribunal also found that the volume of dumped goods, originating in or exported from the United Arab Emirates, and the volume of subsidized goods, originating in or exported from the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam is negligible. The Tribunal therefore terminated its inquiry in respect of these goods.

The Tribunal will issue the reasons for its findings on December 1, 2020.

The complainant in this case was ArcelorMittal Dofasco GP of Hamilton in Ontario.
