The acquisition, emphasizing collaborative growth, allows Com.Steel Inox to retain autonomy, managed independently by the Pensotti brothers.


In a bold move, Cogne Acciai Speciali SpA has solidified its commitment to strategic growth by acquiring a substantial 65% stake in Com.Steel Inox SpA. The recently incorporated company specializes in the recovery and treatment of stainless steel scrap and nickel alloys in Calusco d’Adda (BG).

Maximiliano Burelli, CEO of Cogne Acciai Speciali, underscores the significance of this acquisition as the inaugural step in their upstream verticalization strategy. This strategic shift aims to ensure the circularity of operations, optimizing scrap composition to reduce reliance on ferroalloys and thereby improving the overall carbon footprint. Despite the acquisition, Com.Steel Inox will maintain its autonomy, with Andrea and Edoardo Pensotti continuing as CEOs, overseeing independent operations.

Eugenio Marzorati, Executive Vice President of Cogne Acciai Speciali, expresses satisfaction with the operation's successful execution. This move aligns with Cogne's broader strategy of growth through mergers and acquisitions, both vertically and horizontally.
