Mettis Global reported that Crescent Steel & Allied Products Limited is expected to start working on Greater Karachi Water Supply Scheme’s K-IV project which is roughly 209 kilometres with a steel requirement of 158,000 tonnes worth PKR 50 billion. K-IV will become operational within two years supplying 650 million gallons of additional water daily to the citizens.Crescent Steel & Allied Products Limited is a conglomerate corporation listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Starting operations with a pipe manufacturing facility in March 1987, Crescent Steel now has diversified businesses in engineering, textiles, capital markets and power. Crescent Steel & Allied Product’s Steel segment manufactures large diameter spiral submerged arc welded steel line pipes and a pipe coating facility capable of applying multi and single layer, high density polyethylene internal and external coatings. Both units are located at Nooriabad. Crescent Steel & Allied Productshas a capacity to manufacture pipes with a range of 8–120 inches diameter with a thickness between 4mm to 25mm whereas the capacity to produce (based on single shift) up to 66,667 tonnes annually. It was able to sell these products with American Petroleum Institute monogram along with this they are the leader in Pakistan for large diameter Submerged Arc Welded Helical steel pipes.
