Following regional improvements from the pandemic, the emerging Indian steel market gained some strength and in August 2021 JSW group awarded Danieli the order for a 100-tonne ladle furnace to be deployed in their latest-acquired Bhushan Power and Steel plant. As a part of the productivity enhancement plan for the existing four, 100-ton EAFs, production will he boosted to 25 heats per day per furnace, up from the current 20, with the requirement to add a new, singlestation ladle furnace 5, with one car to manage the additional 20 heats coming from the four existing EAFs, five heats a day per furnace. The basic design parameters of the ladle furnace include: a 40-minute cycle time, a 12.7 MW active power, a 14-MVA+20% transformer and a 3,155 mm ladle diameter. Thanks to the Q-Rcg technological package for electrode regulation, along with a highly efficient hydraulic system, this ladle furnace will be able to achieve the following guaranteed parameters, confirming the quality of the order JSW awarded Danieli:Heating Rate 4.0 deg C /minEnergy 0.50 kW'h/t/deg CElectrode <10g/kWh IIn addition to the four existing EAFs, the new equipment supplied by Danieli, will allow the customer to exceed the current 2.5-million tonne per year production rate, reaching the 4.0-million tonne per year goal
