Russian steel maker EVRAZ announced the appointment of Ms Elena Samsonova to the position of Vice President, Human Resources. At EVRAZ, Elena will be developing the system for the strategic and operational personnel management in line with the company’s business development goals, carry out strategic resource planning, and implement efficient tools for personnel assessment and development. Her priorities will be centred around upgrading the existing motivation management systems and introducing the new ones, developing the employee engagement system, supporting and developing employee training programmes, supporting HR business partnership across all organisational levels, and implementing internationally recognised HR best practices.Before joining EVRAZ, Ms Elena Samsonova had worked for 15 years as HR director at Uralkali, Global Ports, Eurochem, and TransContainer. She was responsible for the development and implementation of the HR strategy, setting up a close-knit executive leadership team, talent search, establishing and developing the foundations of corporate culture, development and implementation of compensation systems.In 1998, Ms Elena graduated with honours from Perm State University, majoring in English Language and English Literature. In 2000, she earned her master’s degree from University of Durham Business School, UK, majoring in HR management. In 2012, Ms Elena achieved an MBA from Saint Petersburg International Institute of Management.
