<p>India’s Union Minister of Steel Mr Ram Chandra Prasad Singh informed the Rajya Sabha that Ministry of Steel is providing financial assistance for research and development in the steel sector, through the scheme Promotion of Research & Development in Iron & Steel Sector.”</p><p>He informed that the amounts disbursed under the scheme during the last five years are</p><p>2017-18 – INR 1400 lakhs</p><p>2018-19 - INR 1500 lakhs</p><p>2019-20 - INR 1500 lakhs</p><p>2020-21 - INR 53.9 lakhs</p><p>2021-22 (till date) - INR 87.9 lakhs</p>
