German steel association WV Stahl has reported that crude steel production in Germany was 36.8 million tonnes in 2022, down 8% YoY. This marks, with the exception of the corona year 2020, the lowest annual value since 2009. The production volume of the second half of the year even represents a low point since reunification. At 17.3 million tonnes, production in the second half of the year was 11% YoY.
