Germany based steel and metal recycling business ALBA Group, active in Europe and Asia, is seeking a strategic investor. ALBA Group CEO Dr Eric Schweitzer said "The European Green Deal leads to a structural change in the steel industry in order to do justice to climate protection. We are therefore looking for a strategic investor who would like to take over the majority of ALBA SE and use the opportunities for organic growth and acquisitions with us. In the steel industry, I'm registering a growing interest in securing direct access to scrap in view of climate protection requirements and not just being dependent on external suppliers."A complete sale of the ALBA Group's stake in ALBA SE is also conceivable, also via the stock exchange.ALBA SE includes a group of companies that are active in steel and metal recycling, making it one of the leading processors in Europe. ALBA Europe Holding, a 100% subsidiary of the ALBA Group, holds 93% of the shares in the metal specialist. ALBA has two brands, ALBA and Interseroh. In 2020 it generated sales of EUR 1.9 billion, preventing emission of some 3.5 million tonnes of greenhouse gases compared to primary production and preserving some 28.8 million tonne of primary raw materials
