Vietnams leading steelmaker How Phat has achieved total volume of nearly 20 million tonnes import and export at Hoa Phat Dung Quat port in 2022, in which coal and ore accounted for 10.6 million tonnes. In 2022, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port welcomed 2,320 ships to the port. More than 62% of the total volume of goods that passed through the port in 2022 was commodities like coal, ore, limestone and dolomite. These commodities account for the majority of imports. These materials are extensively used by Hoa Phat's steel manufacturers in Dung Quat and Hai Duong. During the year, the total volume of rebar, wire rod, billet, HRC etc exported through the port reached over 4.1 million tonnes. In addition, the volume of blast furnace slag also reached a high output of 2 million tonnes. Having 11 modern berths, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port brings significant advantages in logistics. This enables Hoa Phat to import raw materials in large volumes, and export finished products from construction steel and billet, HRC to by-products of the iron and steel production process. From the beginning of 2019, when Hoa Phat Dung Quat Port started operating to the present, a total of over 62.5 million tonnes of goods have been transported through the port. In the near future, Hoa Phat Dung Quat will continue to upgrade the specialized port to be able to increase the exploitation capacity for the Dung Quat 2 project. This will include dredging the port and adding a new wharf. Besides, the Company is also building a general port to serve the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Integrated Complex.
