IMH sells an 89% stake in the Berezovskaya processing plant to Stroyservice, a major coal producer. The transfer occurred without public announcements from either party. The plant, established in 1969, processes coking coal, contributing to metallurgical coke production.

In a discrete transaction, Industrial Metallurgical Holding (IMH) surreptitiously sold an 89% stake in the Berezovskaya processing plant to Stroyservice, a significant player in the coal industry. Neither party publicly acknowledged the exchange, leaving the transfer unannounced and without formal disclosure.

Previously owned by Kemerovo-based Koks, the Berezovskaya Central Processing Plant's ownership transitioned hands, representing a substantial shift in ownership within the coal sector. Despite the absence of official confirmations, industry insiders affirmed IMH's sale of the plant to Stroyservice.

IMH declined to offer any comments regarding the transaction, while Stroyservice refrained from confirming their acquisition of the asset, shrouding the deal in secrecy.

Established in 1969, the Berezovskaya Central Processing Plant boasts a processing capacity of 4 million metric tons for coking coal. Its primary output comprises concentrate for metallurgical coke production, characterized by an ash content ranging between 8.5% to 9.5%.

The plant primarily sources coal from the Tikhov mine, previously part of IMH before its sale to MMK Group earlier in the year. Notably, IMH's Butovskaya mine in Kuzbas ceased operations in 2020, leaving the Koksovy site as the sole operational open-pit mine, with its coal processed at the Berezovskaya plant.

The potential integration of Stroyservice's operating open-pit mine in Berezovsky with the acquired plant hints at a future consolidation, according to insiders familiar with the matter.

Stroyservice, a prominent coal producer in Russia, operates multiple mining assets in Kuzbass, recording a coal production of 17.7 million metric tons in 2022. The conglomerate includes coal mining enterprises, processing plants, and the Gubakhinsky Coke plant in the Perm Territory.

The surreptitious sale of IMH's stake in the Berezovskaya processing plant to Stroyservice marks a significant shift in the Russian coal industry. Despite the lack of official statements, the covert exchange underscores notable transformations in ownership within this sector.
