<p>Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers announced that the total production of Passenger Vehicles, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers and Quadricycle in the month of September 2021 was 2.1 miion units, which is a drop of19% compared to September 2020, while domestic sales was about 1.7 million units</p><p>Passenger Vehicles sales were 160,070 units (BMW, Mercedes, Tata Motors & Volvo not included)</p><p>Three wheeler sales were 29,185 units</p><p>Two wheeler sales were 1,528,472 units</p><p>SIAM also said that total production of Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers and Quadricycle in April - September 2021 was 11.1 million units while domestic sales was 8.3 million units.</p><p>Passenger Vehicles sales were 1.4 million units</p><p>Commercial Vehiclessales were 0.272 milion units</p><p>Three wheeler sales were 0.095million units</p><p>Two wheeler sales were 6.5 milion units</p><p>SIAM Director General Mr Rajesh Menon said “Owing to the semi-conductor shortage, in September 2021 there was a drop in production of about 37% for Passenger Vehicles and 17% for Two Wheelers. On the sales front, barring the Covid period, H1 sales of Passenger Vehicles are still below 2016-17 levels, that of Two Wheelers are below 2011-12 levels, that of Commercial Vehicles are below 2010-11 levels and that of Three-Wheelers are still below 2000-01 levels.”</p>
