Sinobras, part of Brazilian Aço Cearense Group, achieves a milestone with Danieli's state-of-the-art rolling mill #2 in Marabá, Brazil. The mill, uniquely configured with a Danieli bar spooler, initiates production, marking the introduction of twist-free spooled bars in Latin America.
Siderúrgica Norte Brasil (Sinobras), under Aço Cearense Group, has heralded a significant achievement with the commissioning of its rolling mill #2 located in Marabá, Pará state, Brazil. The investment aimed at bolstering production has successfully integrated 500,000 metric tons per year of wirerod and spooled rebar in coils into its capabilities.
Supplied by Danieli, the pioneering rolling mill boasts an innovative full cantilever stand configuration encompassing a total of 26 passes. This setup comprises ten cantilever stands arranged in H/V configuration, complemented by Delta-type fast-finishing blocks employing a 45° design to execute the remaining 16 passes in the reduction sequence.
Empowering Sinobras to craft plain rounds ranging from 5.5 to 16 mm in diameter and rebar from 6.3 to 16 mm in diameter, the mill operates at an impressive maximum finishing speed of 110 meters per second. Additionally, the wirerod and rebar-in-coil finishing lines are equipped for in-line quenching and tempering, heightening production versatility.
A trailblazer in Brazil, Sinobras pioneers the production of twist-free spooled bars in coils utilizing Danieli's spooler technology. These spooled bars eliminate the need for unwinding and rewinding before downstream use, ensuring superior metallurgical uniformity throughout the coil's length.
The successful operation of Sinobras' Danieli-supplied rolling mill #2 marks a watershed moment in Brazil's steel industry. The introduction of Danieli spooler technology not only enables enhanced production capabilities but also positions Sinobras at the forefront of technological advancement in Latin America's steel manufacturing landscape.
