Italian federation of steel companies Federacciai announced that, after YoY decline in the first three months of 2022, crude steel production increased in Italy in April 2022 by 4.8% YoY to 2.16 million tonnes. Italian production of longs amounted to 1.2 million tonne in April up 3.9% YoY, while output of flat steel totaled 0.95 million tonne up by 8.4% YoYIn the January-April period of this year, Italy’s crude steel production amounted to 8.13 million tonne, down 2.4% YoY. However, the decline was half that recorded in the first quarter.
