Italian Daily Adnkronos reported that Lega Nord party’s Italian Minister of Economic Development Mr Giancarlo Giorgetti has raised matter of Italian steel sector’s increased energy costs and lack of raw materials with coalition Prime Minister Mr Mario Draghi & sought protection of the national steel industry. Adnkronos quoted him as saying that “Basically we are between a rock and a hard place. We need scrap and protection of the raw material we have in the country, to be able to guarantee production.”He invited everyone to reflect on Ilva and in particular, whether to change the quantities of steel produced to protection of the national product.
