Andhra Pradesh government announced that Jindal Steel & Power Limited will set up an integrated steel plant with an annual production capacity of 2.25 million tonnes in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of INR 7,500 crore. State Investment Promotion Board has approved allotment of 860 acres land, adjacent to Krishnapatnam port at Thamminapatnam in Nellore district to Jindal Steel Andhra Limited. Major expenditure on the project will not kick off before couple of years until the necessary clearances are obtained. Jindal Steel & Power Limited has announced several steel capacity expansion plans to add 25.2 million tonnes to existing 9.6 million tonne capacity Angul Odisha - From 6 million tonne to 25.2 million tonnes Raigarh Chhattisgarh - From 3.6 million tonnes to 7.2 million tonnes Nellore AP – 2.25 million tonnes
