India’s leading steelmaker JSW Group has started construction work on INR 8,800 crore 3 million tonne steel plant at Sunnapurallapalli village in YSR Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh. JSW group Chairman Mr Sajjan Jindal said “The company will spend INR 3,300 crore in the first phase, which will be completed in 24-30 months. It would spend the remaining INR 5,500 crore in the second phase. We have acquired the land by spending INR 40 crore. We are going to spend about INR 700 crore to develop basic infrastructure. The plant would run on green energy and bring prosperity to the entire district.” The first of the project is expected to be ready for commercial production in 24-30 months. Andhra Pradesh government has allotted 3,500 acres for the project.
