Stolberg headquartered German steel processor Kerschgens will be the owner of Carlier Blechbearbeitungs form 1 September 2022. The plumbing business founded by Mr Franz Carlier in Aachen on Blücherplatz in Germany in 1945 quickly became a sheet metal work shop. The company has continuously developed over several generations into a modern production facility in Rottstraße and has stood for quality, variety and experience in sheet metal processing for over 75 years.Until recently, however, the future was uncertain because there was no prospect of a successor solution for the family business. A trusting customer relationship has now opened up a new perspective that makes, of Carlier Blechbearbeitungs Managing Director Ms Sofia Carlier-Bertino said “Like many small and medium-sized family businesses, we too had to deal with the highly emotional issue of generational change. Since there was no successor within the family, we looked for new ways to maintain the company and to fulfill our responsibility for employees and customers. The company takeover by Kerschgens, a family business also from the region, which is known for its reliability and, like us, relies on long-term cooperation, is very lucky for us! Times have changed and even if there is no solution within the family after so many generations, we are positive about the future of Carlier Blechbearbeitungs GmbH.”Kerschgen's Managing Director Mr Heinz Herbort added that both the jobs at the Aachen location and the services will continue to be maintained. He said “We are very pleased about the opportunity to be able to expand our Kerschgens services through the company takeover. The performance spectrums of both companies already complement each other very well. That's why we will stick to the location and the offer of Carlier Blechbearbeitungs GmbH. Together with Ms Carlier-Bertino, who will remain associated with the company in an advisory capacity, we will work out even more potential for our customers.”In the future, Kerschgens will employ 247 people at the Stolberg, Bitburg, Würselen, Trier and Aachen locations.
