Richland Source reported that Ohio US based Major Metals Company has moved forward its Kochheiser Road facility expansion project to the final phase. Workers have been busy working on the foundation of a tube mill at recently finished e 48,000 square foot building. President and COO Mr Sam Mason said he expects the mill to start running sometime in August 2021. He said the company’s CEO and his father, Mr Jeff Mason, is the driving force behind the new building and also involved in the design of the mill. The steel tubing manufacturer’s second expansion within five years has created a unique supply chain cycle. Mr Mason said Major Metals Company buys steel from a steel mill in Delta in Ohio, which also owns a business constructing metal buildings. Major Metals Company, founded in 1973 by Mason’s grandfather, manufactures welded steel tubing widely used in various industries. Major Metals Company has three tube mills. Its square tubing is used for the production of big shelves and metal boxes for shipping and protecting automobile part. In addition, a major industry the company serves is outdoor metal buildings manufacturing such as a carport or shed.
