The Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry of Malaysia recently concluded its inaugural anti-dumping sunset review on cold-rolled stainless steel in coils/sheets originating from China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand. The decisive outcome of the review is the continuation of the AD measure on the subject goods from the aforementioned countries.The prescribed AD duty rates are as follows: 2.68% for China's Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel and a higher rate of 23.95% for other Chinese producers/exporters, 4.44% for South Korea's POSCO, and 7.27% for other producers/exporters within the country.Taiwanese companies face varying duty rates: Tang Eng at 7.78%, Walsin Lihwa at 2.79%, and a rate of 14.02% for all other Taiwanese producers/exporters. Thailand's POSCO-Thainox, on the other hand, is subjected to 111.61%, and other producers/exporters in Thailand face the same high duty rate.The duration of this AD measure is set at five years, commencing from July 27, 2023, and concluding on July 26, 2028.Certain producers & exporters, including South Korea's Hyundai BNG Steel and Hyundai BNG, and Taiwan's Chia Far Industrial Factory and Yieh United Steel Corporation, have been granted exemption from the AD duty imposition.
