The CT150 coiled tubing, known for its exceptional strength, was selected as one of China's top ten innovative cases within the steel pipe industry. This milestone not only establishes China's position as a global leader in coiled tubing research and development but also highlights Masteel's remarkable advancements in manufacturing techniques.In recent years, the oil and gas industry's focus has shifted from conventional to unconventional areas, necessitating exploration and extraction in deep wells, ultra-deep wells, and horizontal wells with extensive horizontal sections. To meet the demanding requirements of upstream oilfield operations, Masteel's R&D team collaborated closely with the research team at Baoji Steel Pipe, a subsidiary of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). Together, they embarked on a journey to tackle key challenges in the field. After countless rigorous tests and overcoming numerous technical obstacles, the team successfully developed the groundbreaking CT150 coiled tubing product with ultra-high strength.In June 2022, the CT150 steel grade made its debut, boasting a diameter of 50.8 mm, a wall thickness of 4.0 mm, and an impressive length of 7,000 meters. This cutting-edge technology was promptly applied to the forefront of oil and gas exploration and development in Xinjiang, showcasing its exceptional performance and reliability.
