The Materials Processing Institute has appointed Jonathon Stormon as its interim CEO, succeeding Chris McDonald, who held the position for almost ten years. This transition comes as Chris McDonald steps down to pursue a political career as the Labour Party's parliamentary candidate for Stockton North.
Jonathon Stormon, recognized for his leadership in interim management and transformative business projects across various sectors like manufacturing and engineering, brings 25 years of extensive experience. His previous role as Head of Transformation for Liberty Steel Europe adds valuable industry expertise to his new position.
While relinquishing day-to-day operations, Chris McDonald will continue as a strategic advisor. His invaluable contributions to the Institute, especially in steering it away from closure in 2014, will persist as he collaborates with the Council on strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
