At Russian Mechel Group’s Moscow Coke and Gas Plant, a number of measures are being completed to reduce the production load on the environment. This is the first stage of the renewed factory ecological program, calculated until 2025, the costs of which will amount to about 1 billion rubles. The overhaul of the coke-chemical production cooling tower is nearing completion. This will improve the cooling of water used in the coke oven gas purification technology. Preparations are underway for the technical re-equipment of the turbine hall with the replacement of the gas-blowing machine in the capture department. In 2022, it is planned to start a phased overhaul of coke ovens, involving the restoration of worn-out brickwork. This will prevent possible leaks of coke oven gas. In addition, in 2022, it is planned to begin the installation of a system for capturing the gas-air mixture released when resin and benzene is loaded into tanks. It will be returned to the chemical storage. As part of the biochemical treatment plant, it is planned to install a new aeration tank No 4, which will improve the treatment of industrial wastewater. In addition, 4 atmospheric air monitoring posts will be installed along the perimeter of the plant. They will allow you to conduct round-the-clock analysis of the air environment near the enterprise.
