Russia’s leading steelmaker MMK has bagged 4 awards of the 9th International Exhibition of Inventions and Design IIDC 2022 in Hong Kong. MMK's developments, including joint ones with the IP Bardin Central Research Institute of Innovation, were presented as part of a collective presentation of Russian inventors and innovators organized by the Archimedes International Innovation Club.1) Production of hot-rolled strip coils from cryogenic structural steel, for production, transportation and storage of liquefied gases: for example, for the manufacture of tanks of marine vessels or the inner walls of cryogenic tanks.2) Production of thick plates from low-alloy steel for pipes for manufacturing of electrically welded longitudinal seam pipes used in the construction of main oil and gas pipelines in northern latitudes. 3) Production of sheet metal from low-alloy pipe steel for manufacturing of electrically welded pipes of main pipelines. They are characterized by increased cold and corrosion resistance. By producing such products, MMC contributes to the development of LNG technology and helps reduce the carbon footprint.4) Production of sheet metal from structural cold-resistant steel for manufacturing of various elements of metal structures, in shipbuilding, construction and other industries.
