Russian steel maker MMK’s Chairman Mr Viktor Rashnikov visited coke oven battery No 12 under construction. The capacity of the new coke oven battery will be 2.5 million tonnes of dry coke per year. Putting the battery into operation will make it possible to phase out five old coke oven batteries and reduce pollutant emissions by 11.35 thousand tonnes per year. Here, at the moment, the installation of piles for all objects of the battery complex has been almost completed, work is underway on 75 objects of the first stage, and the foundations for the installation of equipment are being prepared. Back in August last year, contract equipment began to arrive at the construction site. About 52,000 cubic meters of concrete were poured into the foundations. In total, it is planned to lay 222 thousand cubic meters of concrete, mount 31.7 thousand tons of metal structures, lay out 105 thousand tons of refractory brickwork.
