Russian steel giant MMK has become one of three Russian companies included in the Sustainability Yearbook 2022, a ranking of global companies that have achieved outstanding results in ensuring sustainable development, compiled by the reputable international rating agency S&P Global. MMK became the only representative of the Russian iron and steel industry in the final ranking, entering the top 11 steel companies in the world.Independent experts from S&P Global assessed the performance of more than 7,500 companies worldwide based on sustainability reports and other documents published between April 2021 and January 2022. When compiling the rating, the experts took into account the work in the field of ecology, social policy and corporate governance, paying special attention to the quality of corporate non-financial reporting. Also, according to representatives of S&P Global, an important factor in the assessment was the provision of safety at work, both for staff members and for contractors.MMK adheres to the principles of sustainable development in all aspects.
