Union Minister of Steel and Civil Aviation, Mr. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, revealed NMDC's new logo at New Delhi. The event was attended by Mr. Nagendra Nath Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Mr. Amitava Mukherjee, CMD, NMDC, and other officials of the Ministry of Steel and NMDC.The Minister applauded Team NMDC for their dynamic new logo, emphasizing that the unveiling of the logo signifies the organization's values and objectives, stating “NMDC has evolved significantly over the years, and its previous logo symbolized India's growth journey in the last 75 years, focusing on reducing dependence and fostering self-reliance,.”The Union Minister stated that NMDC's new logo represents India's largest producer of iron ore as it ventures into global mining while upholding sustainability and eco-friendliness. This logo conveys NMDC's responsibility towards harmonious mining with nature and people, ensuring mineral security, fostering mineral accountability, and promoting self-sufficiency in the sector.“India has transformed from a developing to a developed nation due to the herculean efforts of the Prime Minister. We are at an inflection point where we take up not just our citizens' responsibilities but also global responsibilities,” added the Minister.The Minister also commended NMDC for its outstanding achievements, including record-breaking production up to July 2023, with over 40 million metric tons of annual production last year.During his welcome address, CMD, NMDC, spoke about the new logo manifesting NMDC's vision of NMDC 2.0. He mentioned, “As a homage to our heritage, we have retained the blue cog representing the mineral mining cycle, symbolizing the steadfastness and trust we have earned over the decades. The central hand cradling the earth signifies NMDC's commitment to sustainable and responsible mining, as well as global aspirations. The vibrant green color symbolizes growth, renewal, and harmony with nature.”
