Novotrans Group of Companies and the Government of the Lipetsk Region signed an investment agreement within the framework of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum last year, which provides for the creation of a metallurgical machine-building complex for the production of solid-rolled railway wheels at the site of the Lipetsk Special Economic Zone. The annual capacity of the plant will be 400,000 units. Environmentally friendly production will be based on the Green Wheel concept.Novotrans as also joined the Association of Railway Equipment Manufacturer, which was established in June 2007. OPZhT includes 132 domestic organizations. OPZhT members are manufacturers of railway equipment and components, carriers, infrastructure owners, rolling stock operators, engineering and research centers, and educational institutions.
