Bernama reported that NS BlueScope Malaysia has started construction of a 7,007,364 kilowatt hour solar farm in Kapar in Selangor in Malaysia with an initial investment of MYR 16 million. The 33,930 square metre NS BlueScope SunField solar farm will have 9,629 photovoltaic panels and is estimated to be completed by May 2022. NS BlueScope Malaysia Country president Mr Koh Boon Hong said "Tapping into the strength of steel, we are able to introduce a resilient solution that could sustain the generation of clean energy for at least 25 years. The solar plant will help to reduce 4,477 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually compared with using fossil fuel or the equivalent to 29,430 fewer passenger cars, or planting 42,033 trees.” NS BlueScope Malaysia is a part of BlueScope Steel Ltd Australia
