Russia’s leading steelmaker United Metallurgical Company has automated the warehouse process management system in all divisions of its own sales network, through which it sells the products of the Chusovsky plant. Thanks to the project, the speed of picking and shipment of customer orders was increased by 20%. An automated warehouse management system in real time provides traceability of the entire production chain of accounting, storage and shipment of products. This allows the company to improve the accuracy of assembling orders, complete them in the shortest possible time and ship them to customers in any city in Russia. Wireless Wi-Fi networks were installed in all warehouses to organize traceability of the production chain. To optimize the placement and selection of products, an electronic address storage system was used, taking into account batches and series. To track the warehouse movements of products, digital labeling of goods was introduced. Data is collected by reading barcodes on the label using mobile terminals that are connected to the warehouse accounting system. In addition, automated workplaces of operators were created for working with documents, acceptance and labeling of products with brand labels.
