Russian pipe maker United Metallurgical Company OMK has supplied about 11 thousand tonnes of large-diameter pipes for the construction of the Yamal Gas subsea gas pipeline, which Gazprom Neft launched in December 2021. All products are manufactured at the Vyksa plant of OMK in the Nizhny Novgorod region from our own sheet metal with increased cold resistance. The company shipped the bulk of it for the underwater section of the pipeline. Pipes with an external anticorrosive polyethylene coating and an additional concrete coating, designed for a working pressure of up to 11.8 MPa, were produced for it. During their production, the plant ensured a combination of the strength properties of pipes and the ductility of the metal. Also, high requirements were imposed on the pipes in terms of geometric parameters. For the onshore section, the company supplied a batch of pipes with an external corrosion-resistant polyethylene coating. The Yamal Gas Arctic subsea gas pipeline with a total length of 115.5 km and a capacity of 20 billion cubic meters. m per year connected the production facilities of Yamal with the Yamburg-Tula gas pipeline, opening up opportunities for the formation of a large-scale oil and gas cluster in the south of the peninsula. The gas pipeline is part of the Yamal Gas large-scale investment project aimed at using all types and categories of reserves at the Novoportovskoye field and comprehensively developing the resource base in the southern part of the Arctic Peninsula.
