The Russian pipe maker United Metallurgical Company has supplied two non-standard shut-off valves for the section of the Eastern Siberia Pacific Ocean oil pipeline. This equipment, new to the company, was manufactured by OMK's Chelyabinsk plant Trubodetal, using tubular products from OMK's Vyksa plant in Nizhny Novgorod Region. At the request of the customer, OMK Trubodetal provided additional requirements for the minimum yield strength of the bends included in the assembly. This guaranteed increased strength characteristics of the assembly and resistance to high temperatures. The equipment was covered with polyurethane foam coating of two types. At the same time, thermal insulation was applied at the plant to the assembly of a complex design, which required additional efforts. In addition, for the first time, different types of shells were combined at one node: galvanized - for above-ground laying and metal-polymer (coated steel) - for underground laying. The entire production cycle was inspected by representatives of the customer's company.
