POSCO has signed memorandum of understanding with US based world’s second largest supplier of solar tracking systems Array Technologies Inc to provide corrosion resistant steel products including PosMAC, a special steel material that is resistant to corrosion. Under the MOU, Posco will provide 200,000 tonnes of PosMAC to Array Technologies by 2023. Posco will process steel materials such as PosMAC into solar system components and supply them to global solar power projects related to Array Technologies Inc in cooperation with domestic SMEs and its affiliate Posco International.In addition, Posco and Array Technologies Inc will cooperate in the development of technologies related to the design of photovoltaic structures and accessories, while jointly responding to product standardization to support global solar power companies in the adoption of Posco specifications from the project design stage.PosMAC, called rust-free iron, is extensively used for buildings' inner and outer walls, outdoor units of air conditioners, automotive components and many other applications, according to POSCO.Nasdaq listed New Mexico based Array Technologies Inc is one of leading players in large solar power generation projects in the United States, Australia and Europe. Its global market share reached 17% last year.
