State owned Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited has announced that Blast Furnace 1 Godavari has achieving a record hot metal production of 8100 tonnes on 15 January 2023, which is the best daily production by BF-1, since inception. The previous best daily production of 8019 tonnes was achieved from Blast Furnace 1 on 18 February 2022.Godavari Blast Furnace was originally commissioned in 1990 and modernized in 2014 to increase the volume of the furnace is from 3,200 to 3,800 cubic meters by introducing copper cooling plates and latest generation cast iron cooling plates in the place of existing normal cast iron cooling plates. It increased capacity from the furnace by 0.5 million tonne from earlier level of 2 million tonne.In total, RINL has 3 Blast Furnaces of 3800 cubic meter volume each with annual production capacity of 2.5 million tonne each per yearFurnace 1 - Commissioned in 1990 & modernized in 2014Furnace 2 - Commissioned in 1992 & modernized in 2017Furnace 3 – Commissioned in 2012
