The Environment Conservation & Sustainability (ECS) Department submitted BSL's application in the "Large Business Organizations (LBO)" category. An extensive presentation was made by Nitesh Ranjan AGM (Environment), addressing queries from the eminent Industry, Academia, and Sustainability Experts' panel.
Impressed by Bokaro Steel Plant's dynamic initiatives in Environmental Protection and commitment to sustainable steel-making practices, the Jury recommended them for the ICC Environmental Excellence Award's highest Platinum Category.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for January 11, 2024, at Hotel Oberoi Grand Kolkata. This recognition stands as a coveted achievement in environmental management, involving rigorous assessment, presentations, and final jury evaluations.
BSL's remarkable achievements include a 12.07% reduction in particulate matter emissions, 77.3% decrease in specific effluent discharge, achieving 100% Solid Waste Utilization in FY 2022-23, and planting over 47 lakh saplings since its inception.
