Steel Authority of India Limited’s Rourkela Steel Plant has posted brilliant overall performance in various key areas in the April-December 2022.RSP produced highest ever 3.225 million tonnes of hot metal, 3.025 million tonnes of crude steel and 2.806 million tonnes of saleable steel in the first 9 months of the current financial year to clock the best ever performance. RSP dispatched 2.806 million tonnes of saleable steel, the best ever figure since inception. It was a remarkable year for many units of the RSP which touched new milestones. 1. The Steel Melting Shop-II surpassed the historic landmark of 50 million tonne of crude steel production on 30 December, 2022. 2. The Hot Strip Mill-2 clocked the best single day production on 28 December 2022. Also HSM 2 rolled 197,761 tonnes of HR Coils to register its best December performance. 3. With an all-time high production of 5.334 million tonnes of sinter during Q3 of the current fiscal, the Sinter Plants complemented the success story. 4. The average oven pushing from Coke Oven Battery-6 also witnessed the best ever figure of 90.1 Q3
