SARRALLE Environment & Energy announced the successful start-up of Phase I (2022) and the new order for Phase II of the Treatment and Recovery of Steel Mill Slag project for Phoenix Services at Acerinox Palmones in Spain. This project, which tackles the complex process of treating steel mill slag, presents both operational challenges and opportunities for environmental and economic benefits. The stainless steel slag contains valuable components such as chromium and iron, making the efficient recovery of these metals crucial. To achieve this, cutting-edge technology comprising two processes is employed. The first process, the Crushing Plant (CP), involves the crushing and classification of the slag. Phase I of the project was completed in June 2022, establishing this initial step.Building upon the success of Phase I, Phase II, known as the Metal Recovery Plant (MRP), was ordered in March 2023. This phase focuses on the recovery of fines metals and the production of an aggregate product. By efficiently recovering and utilizing these valuable metals, both environmental and economic gains can be realized.SARRALLE's turnkey project encompasses the design, engineering, automatization & control, mechanical equipment, manufacturing, civil works, commissioning, and start-up of the Metal Recovery Plant. Acerinox Palmones in Spain will benefit from state-of-the-art equipment operated by experts like Phoenix Services, ensuring the most efficient waste treatment plant. With the implementation of this advanced plant, Acerinox will have the capacity to treat 70 tons per hour of stainless steel slag. SARRALLE invites interested parties to contact them for further information on this project and their Waste Treatment Solutions, emphasizing their commitment to providing the best solutions for efficient waste treatment and resource recovery.
