Thailand Extends Anti Dumping Duty on CR Imports for 5 Years
The Nation Thailand reported that a trade panel headed by Thailand’s Commerce Minister Mr Jurin Laksanawisit has approved maintaining the anti-
dumping duty on imported cold-rolled steel for5 years. Thailand’s Foreign Trade Department Director General Mr Kirati Ratchano said “The duty had been collected from importers of steel for the past five years to deal with dumping in the market. However, after noting that the price of steel in Thailand was cheaper than in foreign countries, the anti dumping panel decided to impose the duty for another five years.”
Thailand currently collects a duty of 50.92 per cent of CIF price of rolled steel imports from Japan. The rate is 50.99 per cent for South Korean steel and 0 to 33.99 per cent for Taiwanese steel.
