Russian pipe maker Pipe Metallurgical Company TMK’s Sinar Pipe Plant has increased its own capacity for the automatic application of a temporary conservation coating on pipe products. The equipment is installed in the pipe rolling shop No T2 and in order to maximize the automation of technological flows, is built into the technological scheme of the pipe-cutting line. Additional capacities make it possible to apply a conservation coating on the outer surface of tubing and casing pipes. The composition used not only improves the presentation of the product, but also protects the metal of the pipes, increasing the resistance to atmospheric influences - the treated pipes can be stored outdoors for up to 12 months.SinTZ Managing Director Mr Vyacheslav Gagarinov said “SinTZ continues to modernize equipment to increase the competitiveness of products. Today, most orders for piping solutions for the oil and gas industry are accompanied by a requirement for a conservation coating for the period of transportation and storage. The introduction of new equipment allows us to satisfy the needs of our customers and protects products from atmospheric influences during delivery. Since the commissioning of the new units, more than 4,000 tonnes of pipes have already been processed.”
