Russian pipe maker the Pipe Metallurgical Company TMK’s ETERNO has supplied equipment for the modernization of the steel production of the TMK’s Volga Pipe Plant. A new product of the heavy engineering line is designed to move a steel-pouring ladle along a rail track from an arc steel-smelting furnace to a ladle furnace, where the steel is brought to certain technological characteristics. The steel locomotive with a length of more than 8 meters, a width of 6.2 meters, and a weight of 62 tonnes is made of structural low-alloy steel and is equipped with an electric motor, a gearbox and strain gauges. Its use will ensure reliable movement of liquid metal at various production stages and will ensure the specified weight of the melt.Steel carrier was purchased as part of measures to improve the efficiency of VTZ steelmaking. This equipment is equipped with automatic control mode and improves the safety and reliability of the steelmaking process.
