Russia's war in Ukraine has pushed Ukrainian steel production to the brink. Interfax reported that Ukraine's steel roll production plummeted 65.6% YoY in January-August 2022 to 4.477 million tonnes. The Ukrmetallurgprom association said crude steel output fell 64.5% YoY to 5.186 million tonnes and hot metal fell 64.4% YoY to 5.15 million tonnes.Ukraine’s roll production grew 3.5% to 19.079 million tonnes in 2021, crude steel rose 3.6% to 21.366 million tonnes and pig iron grew 3.6% also, to 21.165 million tonnes.
