Metalloinvest’s Ural Steel produced and shipped K52-D steel strip with heightened cold resistance for the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant, part of TMK. The batch is intended for the construction of the Irkutsk Oil Company’s Yaraktinsky Markovsky gas pipeline in the town of Ust-Kut. The 6,000-tonne shipment of high cold resistance strip was made in compliance with the KCV impact resistance requirements at a temperature of minus 60 degree Celsius.

The standard for impact resistance, relative to the standard temperature test for strip of this resistance grade is minus 20 degree Celsius, has been doubled and amounted to 120 J/cm2.

Despite the stringent requirements for rolled metal, Ural Steel successfully achieved its goal and ensured the supply of high quality metal on time.
