<p>The US Department of Commerce preliminarily determined that certain producers & exporters of certain hot-rolled steel flat products from the Republic of Korea received countervailable subsidies during the period of review. It has provisionally set subsidy rates for two South Korean hot-rolled flat steel companies as part of an administrative countervailing dutyreview. The original subsidy rate of 0.56% was determined for Hyundai Steel. The same rate, based on the calculations used to determine Hyundai's rate, was applied to POSCO.</p><p>Commerce is rescinding this review with respect to DCE Inc, Dong Chuel America Inc, Dong Chuel Industrial Co Ltd, Dongbu Incheon Steel Co Ltd, Dongbu Steel Co Ltd, Dongkuk Industries Co Ltd, Dongkuk Steel Mill Co Ltd, Hyewon Sni Corporation, JFE Shoji Trade Korea Ltd, POSCO Coated & Color Steel Co Ltd, POSCO Daewoo Corporation, Soon Hong Trading Co Ltd and Sung-A Steel Co Ltd.</p><p>The period for consideration of this case is from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. </p><p>On December 8, 2020, Commerce published a notice of initiation of an administrative review of the countervailing duty order on hot-rolled steel from Korea.</p><p>The final results of the survey will be announced by USDOC in early March 2022.</p>
