The US Department of Commerce has announced the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping duty order on carbon & alloy steel wire rod imports from South Korea. During the review period of 1 May 2020 to 30 April 32021, South Korean steel producer POSCO was found to have not made sales of the given products at less than normal value. Accordingly, the DOC has calculated a weighted-average dumping margin of zero for POSCO.The preliminary antidumping duty for the country is applicable from 2 June 2022.The scope of the Order includes certain hot-rolled products of carbon steel and alloy steel, in coils, of approximately round cross section, less than 19.00 mm in actual solid cross-sectional diameter. Excluded from the scope are grade 1078 and higher tire cord quality* wire rod to be used in the production of tire cord wire. Also, excluded from the scope are VSQ steel products which are defined as wire rod.
