American Iron & Steel Institute announced that in the week ending on 16 April 2022, domestic raw steel production was 1,766,000 net tons while the capability utilization rate was 80.9 percent. Production was 1,834,000 net tons in the week ending April 16, 2021 while the capability utilization then was 80.8 percent. The current week production represents a 3.7 percent decrease from the same period in the previous year.
